My name is John Clark, founder of Bucketlist Angling and Adventures. I am a lifelong passionate fly fisherman and former fishing guide who, like every angler, wanted to experience the thrill of destination fly fishing for fish like permit, trout, tarpon, golden dorado, atlantic salmon and so on. What angler doesn’t? The only obstacle was the price.
While guiding in High school and College, I formed many relationships with other guides, lodges, and people that had roots and contacts in the very places you see featured on this website today, along with others that are not detailed on the page for obvious reasons. Through those relationships, I was able to find out how and where to go to get on the fish, without having to go through expensive fishing lodges that often have multiple middle men and are overpriced for that reason.
In traveling to the destinations featured on this site and it’s articles, I gradually met and formed relationships with independent fishing guides and lodging operations that were financially reasonable, which allowed for me to set up destination fly fishing trips without using an expensive booking agent, and to structure the trip within my budget/without unnecessary amenities.
As I began to do more of these trips, people began to regularly reach out to me asking where I was, and how I was able to visit so many destinations on a regular basis. I explained what I have explained here, and started setting others up on trips to the places featured here, which resulted in a lot of positive feedback.
The Birth of Bucketlist Angling & Adventures
At some point, I realized that there was a real demand for these types of trips: no frills or unnecessary expenses, with the focus being on quality fishing and a clean bed. For this reason, I started Bucketlist Angling and Adventures, and truly enjoy the thrill of making someone’s dream trip a reality for them.
I hope you enjoy the site and are able to take advantage of the fly fishing opportunities offered here. I am always available to discuss any questions you may have, and urge you to reach out to me with any questions you may have about a trip you are considering, or have booked through the site.
